Hull FC have released centre Arthur Romano on compassionate grounds to allow him to return to France.
The 29-year-old joined the Black and Whites from Catalans Dragons on a two-year deal last September and scored two tries in 15 appearances.
Hull FC said Romano would "take up an opportunity with another Super League club in 2027" and they would receive compensation from his new team.
