    York Knights have signed Newcastle Thunder half-back Cody Hunter on a two-year deal after a successful loan spell. The 24-year-old Australian joined the Thunder from Queensland Cup side Sunshine Coast Falcons last winter. He scored 10 tries in 11 appearances for the Championship side at the start of the campaign before joining the Knights on loan in April.
